HCSA Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 20 October at the Historian Hotel, 18 Coromandel Place, Adelaide. 6:00pm for a 6.30 start. Unfortunately only fifty places are available due to restrictions on numbers.

Please remember that you must have your membership up to date prior to the AGM. You can renew your membership here.

As per our constitution, committee position terms are two years. Please review your position as if your term has ended, you may wish to re-nominate yourself or nominate another member of your organisation.

Friends of South Australia's Archives: Update on South Australian Archives held by the NAA
The latest newsletter from the FSAA provides a summary of the situation regarding the relocation of South Australian NAA archival material to Canberra, where a centralised digitisation hub is to be established. The History Council and the FSAA urge people to consider contacting their local MP or South Australian Senator to register their concerns.

A State of Change: two days of learning, sharing, and connecting history
Presented by the History Trust of South Australia and its partners the University of Adelaide, the State Library of South Australia, and Wakefield Press, proposals for sessions at this event are due 12 September 2021. The event itself will be held 19-20 November 2021.

From 21 August to 18 December 2021, Unley museum is hosting an exhibition to celebrate the city's 150th anniversary.

Flinders History Research Seminars
The next seminar is being held on October 8: 'Intimacy, domesticity, and violence in the long, turbulent mid-twentieth century.' by Associate Professor Catherine Kevin, Flinders University.
Seminars are held Fridays, 11.15am - 12.30pm. Seminars will be held in a mixed format, both in-person with social distancing observed as well as online.

Expressions of Interest: Aboriginal Reference Group
State Records and the State Library of South Australia are calling for expressions of interest from members of the South Australian Aboriginal community to join a joint Aboriginal Reference Group. The group will provide feedback and advice on services, activities, and policies of State Records and the State Library relating to Aboriginal people and culture. Nominations close 30 September 2020.

This October the Greek Museum of Adelaide will be opening as an open and free-to-public museum at Flambrouro Hall, 18 Fulton street, Glenelg.

Oral History Australia Biennial Conference 2021
It is with great regret that, due to the COVID situation in the eastern states, the Oral History Association has made the decision to postpone their 2021 conference until next year. Details will be communicated over the coming weeks.
